Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Electronics Engineering: B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics Engineering with a First Division from a UGC recognized university and a valid NET/GATE score, OR M.E./M.Tech. in Electronics Engineering with a First Division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels from a UGC recognized university.
Physics: Post Graduate level in Physics with a First Division from a UGC recognized university and a valid NET/GATE score, OR M.E./M.Tech. in Physics with a First Division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels from a UGC recognized university.
Computer Science: B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science with a First Division from a UGC recognized university and a valid NET/GATE score, OR M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science with a First Division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels from a UGC recognized university.
Mechanical Engineering: B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with a First Division from a UGC recognized university and a valid NET/GATE score, OR M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with a First Division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels from a UGC recognized university.

Age Limit Details

The upper age limit is 28 years as on the closing date of application receipt. Age relaxation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates will be provided as per Government of India norms.

Salary & Pay Scale

The Fellowship offers a monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000/- along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as admissible under the rules. The fellowship is initially for a period of two years, extendable as per rules.

How to Apply

To apply for the Junior Research Fellowship at IRDE, candidates must follow these steps:

Download the prescribed Application Form available on the DRDO website (www.drdo.gov.in).
Fill out the application form completely and accurately.
Forward the duly filled application form along with enclosures to the Director, IRDE, Dehradun.
The envelope containing the application must be super-scribed in bold letters with 'APPLICATION FOR JRF ENGAGEMENT'.
Scan the signed Application Form and all supporting certificates (minimum educational qualification, matriculation/birth certificate, GATE/NET score card, caste certificate if applicable) into a single PDF file.
Email this single PDF file to [email protected] before the closing date.
Candidates serving in Government/Public sector undertakings/autonomous bodies must apply through the proper channel and produce a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) at the time of interview.

Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 10/- via a crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) drawn in favour of "The Director, IRDE, Dehradun". SC/ST/OBC candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
