Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideally suited for recent engineering graduates in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation disciplines who completed their degree after April 1, 2023. Candidates must be freshers with less than one year of prior work experience and should meet the specified aggregate mark criteria (60% for UR/OBC-NC, 50% for SC/ST/PwBD). Those seeking a structured, year-long training opportunity within a leading Government of India enterprise, with aspirations for a long-term career in the petroleum sector, will find this program highly beneficial.
Important Considerations
Candidates with one year or more of work experience are strictly ineligible. Also, individuals who have previously undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, cannot apply. Engineering graduates who completed their degree before April 1, 2023, are also not eligible. Failure to meet the academic percentage criteria or the age limits will result in disqualification.
Career Impact
HPCL, a prestigious Government of India Enterprise (Maharatna PSU), offers a valuable platform for engineering graduates to commence their professional journey. While this is a fixed-term apprenticeship, successful completion provides significant advantages, including relaxation and preference in future HPCL recruitments. This exposure offers an excellent foundation for a career in the oil and gas industry and serves as a strong stepping stone towards potentially securing a permanent position within a reputable public sector undertaking.
