This position is housed in the Biosensors Research Laboratory within the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering at IIT Madras, led by Prof. V. V. Raghavendra Sai. The project is an ICMR-funded apex initiative titled 'MolOnco-DnT-CenTr: Translational Centre For Diagnostic And Therapeutic Technologies in Molecular Oncology'. The work environment is academically rigorous and research-focused, situated within IIT Madras's premier research ecosystem. Project Technical Support personnel engage directly in advanced molecular oncology diagnostic workflows, including DNA/RNA isolation from clinical specimens, qPCR analysis, optical fiber and plasmonic U-bent biosensor fabrication, nanoparticle conjugation, and bioanalytical assay validation. The role requires meticulous laboratory safety protocols, strict documentation, and close collaboration with clinicians, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD scholars.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

The appointment is purely on a contractual basis, initially for a period of one year, extendable on an annual basis subject to satisfactory performance review and project grant availability under the ICMR scheme. Career & Promotion Ladder

Promotion timeline, seniority ladder, pay grade scaling.

As a sponsored research project position, progression is structured through project-level increments and potential re-designation (e.g., to Project Technical Support III or Senior Project Technical Support) based on performance appraisals, acquisition of higher qualifications, and availability of sanctioned project funding lines.
Crucial Application Warnings & Eligibility Traps
