Job Analysis

AI-generated insights

Best-Fit Profile

This role is ideally suited for highly motivated individuals holding an M.Sc. or M.Tech. degree in relevant engineering or science disciplines, particularly with a valid GATE/NET qualification. Candidates with prior experience in AI/ML, remote sensing, GIS, water chemistry, or treatment, and those seeking valuable research exposure at a premier academic institution, will find this opportunity particularly rewarding.

Important Considerations

Individuals without the specified M.Sc./M.Tech. degree and a valid GATE/NET score are not eligible. This position is unsuitable for those seeking a permanent government job, as it is a project-based contractual role with a duration until May 2027. Candidates unwilling to commit to this fixed-term research project or without relevant experience in the specified fields should not apply.

Career Impact

Working as a Junior Research Fellow at IIT Roorkee, an Institute of National Importance, offers significant academic and research prestige. This project on 'AI Monitoring of Lentic Water Bodies for Green House Gas Mitigation' is at the forefront of environmental science and AI applications, providing excellent hands-on experience and a strong foundation for future academic, research, or industry careers in these cutting-edge domains. While time-bound, the experience gained at such an institution is highly valuable for long-term growth.
