Jharkhand Home Defense Corps (झारखण्ड गृह रक्षा वाहिनी) is an auxiliary voluntary organization operating under the Home Department of Jharkhand. Home Guards assist the district police administration during Shravani Mela in Deoghar (Baba Baidyanath Temple security), election bandobast, traffic regulation, disaster mitigation, and night patrolling. Enrolled Home Guards are paid daily duty allowance/honorarium as determined by the Government of Jharkhand only for the actual days deployed on active duty. This is voluntary service, not a salaried government post.
Home Guard is a voluntary service organization and not a permanent salaried government job. Enrolled Home Guards receive government-prescribed daily duty allowance / honorarium (around Rs. 500 to Rs. 800 per duty day) strictly for the days they are deployed on active duty.
