Educational Qualification

Post-wise educational requirements under project EAP-486:

  • Young Professional-I (YP-I): B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture / Botany / Biotechnology / Environmental Science / Microbiology / Molecular Biology. Desirable: Experience in soil, plant, and water analysis, laboratory and field experimentation, and preparation of scientific/technical reports.
  • Field Operator (FO): Matriculation (10th) with +2 Vocational in Agriculture, OR Matriculation with Diploma in Agriculture, OR Matriculation with 2 years of working experience in an agriculture-related field. Desirable: Farm machinery operation skill certificate (Power tiller, Grass cutter, Seed driller, and Thresher) from a recognized institute.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age limits as on the date of interview:

  • Young Professional-I: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 45 years.
  • Field Operator: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 50 years.

Upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, and OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Selection will be conducted through a walk-in interview. For Field Operator, selection includes a practical trade test evaluating farm machinery operation skills (power tiller, grass cutter, seed driller, and thresher). In the event of a high turnout of candidates, a preliminary screening test may be conducted by ICAR-CRRI to shortlist candidates for the interview.

Positions are based at the ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI) campus in Cuttack, Odisha, under project EAP-486 ('Valorisation of phosphogypsum as a multinutrient source for enhancement of soil fertility and crop productivity in Rice-based cropping systems'). Work involves a balanced combination of field-based agronomic experimentation (pot experiments, fertilizer application, crop data logging) and laboratory nutrient analysis (soil, plant, and water chemistry). The work culture is research-focused and interactive under senior ICAR principal investigators.

Engagement is purely temporary and co-terminus with project EAP-486, initially valid up to 31st March 2027 or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier. The service automatically terminates on project completion.

These are contractual project positions with no provision for permanent absorption or regular cadre promotion in ICAR.
