Educational Qualification

Post-wise educational criteria:

  • Young Professional-I (YP-I): B.Sc. in Agriculture, Microbiology, Botany, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology from a recognized University / Institution. Desirable: Experience in soil, plant, and water analysis experimentation work in laboratory and field, along with preparation of scientific/technical reports.
  • Field Assistant (FA): Matriculation (10th) with +2 Vocational in an agricultural-related subject or Diploma in an agricultural-related subject, OR Matriculation with at least two (02) years of working experience in agricultural-related field work from a reputed organization. Desirable: Experience in agricultural field-related and laboratory operations.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age criteria as on date of interview:

  • Young Professional-I: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years.
  • Field Assistant: Minimum 18 years and maximum 50 years.
Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates as per Government of India / ICAR norms.

Young Professionals and Field Assistants at ICAR-CRRI (National Rice Research Institute), Cuttack work in specialized research laboratories and experimental agricultural field plots under the EAP-473 project ('Integrated bio stabilization of heavy metals in fly ash amended soils'). Duties involve pot culture experiments, field-level soil amendment trials, sample collection (soil, fly ash, rice plant tissues, water), wet chemistry digestion, analytical spectrophotometry, data tabulation, and scientific report drafting under the Principal Investigator. The work environment is academic and collaborative, adhering to central government ICAR laboratory safety and research protocols.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project up to 31.03.2027 or until project completion, whichever is earlier. The service terminates automatically upon project conclusion with zero entitlement to regular absorption or permanent cadre status in ICAR or CRRI. Place of posting is on-campus at ICAR-CRRI, Bidyadharpur, Cuttack, Odisha.

However, practical laboratory and field experience at an apex ICAR national research institute provides significant competitive weightage (API and research credentials) for subsequent ICAR YP-II, Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Technical Assistant (T-1/T-3), or state Agricultural Officer recruitments.
