The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) is an initiative by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It provides comprehensive Medicare to all Ex-servicemen (ESM) in receipt of pension and their dependents through a network of ECHS Polyclinics, Service Hospitals, and empanelled private hospitals across the country.

Salary & Pay Scale
Salaries are fixed monthly remunerations based on the trade:
- Medical Specialists/Radiologists/Gynaecologists: Rs. 1,00,000/-
- Medical/Dental Officers/Officer-Incharge: Rs. 75,000/-
- Para-Medical Staff (Pharmacist, Nurse, etc.): Rs. 28,100/-
- Clerical/DEO/Driver: Rs. 19,700/- to Rs. 22,500/-
- Support Staff (Peon, Safaiwala, Chowkidar): Rs. 16,800/-
