Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for highly qualified engineering graduates or postgraduates with a strong academic background in Mechanical Engineering or related material science disciplines. Candidates who have cleared national eligibility tests like CSIR-UGC NET/GATE are particularly suitable, as they qualify for a higher stipend. Individuals with an M.Tech degree and practical experience in nanomaterials, CFRP, composite manufacturing, and mechanical characterization will find this project highly aligned with their expertise for advancing their research careers.
Important Considerations
Candidates without the specified engineering degrees (B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E.) and relevant specialization are not eligible. Those seeking permanent government employment should note this is a temporary, project-based position with a maximum duration of three years. Individuals without an interest in specific research on advanced materials for localized self-healing applications may find this role unsuitable.
Career Impact
Working as a Project Associate-I at NIT Silchar, an Institute of National Importance, offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge, SERB-DST sponsored research. This position provides excellent exposure to advanced materials science and engineering under experienced faculty, significantly enhancing a candidate's research profile. While temporary, the experience gained is highly reputable within the academic and research community, opening pathways for future doctoral studies or research positions in prestigious institutions.
