Candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Academic Eligibility: A minimum aggregate of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL candidates. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum requirement is 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
- Engineering Degrees: B.E. / B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant fields.
- Postgraduate Engineering Degrees: M.E. / M.Tech. or an equivalent degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and related specializations.
- Science Degrees: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Physics.
A GATE/NET qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
