- Option 1: B.Tech. or B.E. (or equivalent) in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering / Mechanical Engineering, AND M.Tech. or M.E. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (or related fields).
- Marks Requirement: First class with 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG for GEN/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS categories.
- Marks Requirement (Reserved): Minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Note: GATE score is NOT mandatory.
- Option 2: B.Tech. or B.E. (or equivalent) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
- Marks Requirement: At least CGPA of 7.5/10 or 70% marks for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL categories.
- Marks Requirement (Reserved): At least CGPA of 7.0/10 or 65% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Note: GATE score is NOT mandatory.
- Option 3: M.Tech. in Materials Science/ Nanoscience and Nanotechnology/ Ceramic Engineering/ Surface Engineering.
- Marks Requirement: Minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG (wherever applicable) for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL categories.
- Marks Requirement (Reserved): Minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Preference will be given to candidates qualified in GATE/UGC/CSIR/INSPIRE/NET or any relevant national level exam.
- Prior experience in characterization techniques (SEM/TEM/XRD etc.) is desirable.
