Field Assistant

This role is ideal for fresh graduates or early career professionals with a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, English, or allied subjects. Candidates who are native speakers of central Naga languages (Ao, Angami, Chokri, Kheza, Sangtam, Pochuri, Tikhir, Yimkhiung, Phom, Chang, and Khiamniungan) and possess basic knowledge of Linguistics are highly preferred. It offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to a DRDO-sponsored research project focused on language technology and gain hands-on experience in field data collection and transcription.

Individuals seeking permanent government employment or roles with extensive long-term career progression within a fixed institutional structure might find this contractual, temporary position (initially one year) unsuitable. Those who are not comfortable with field-based data collection in Nagaland or lack a strong interest in linguistics/language technology should not apply.
