Best-Fit Profile
This role is ideal for qualified legal professionals holding an LLB degree and registered with the Bar Council of India, who possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing advocate and 2 years as a legal professional. Candidates with specific experience in the Mines and Minerals industry, or legal departments of PSUs/Government organizations, will be highly preferred. Strong communication and computer skills are essential. This position suits individuals comfortable with contractual government engagements.
Important Considerations
Individuals seeking permanent government employment should not apply, as this is a strictly contractual role for three years without any claims for regularization or allowances beyond a consolidated monthly remuneration. Candidates with less than the stipulated legal experience or without Bar Council registration are not eligible. Those unwilling to work on a contract basis without additional perks should also consider other opportunities.
Career Impact
The Indian Bureau of Mines, a subordinate office under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, offers a valuable platform to gain experience within a central government framework. While the role is contractual, it provides exposure to specialized legal matters related to mining and minerals, which can be prestigious for a legal career. However, the contractual nature limits long-term growth and benefits compared to permanent government positions.
