- Category - I Graduate Apprentices: Candidates must hold a BE/B.Tech degree in Civil, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical/Industrial/Automobile/Production Engineering from an AICTE recognized university.
- Category - II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Candidates must hold a Diploma in Civil, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical/Industrial/Automobile/Production Engineering from a University or Institution recognized by Central/State Govt. Technical Education Board or University.
- Category - III Graduate Apprentices (General Stream): Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Arts (BA), Science (BSc), Commerce (BCom), Business Administration (BBA), Management Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, or Business Studies from a UGC/Central or State Govt/Technical Education Board recognized university.
