Age Limit Details

The age limit for applicants is 18 to 25 years as on 01.01.2026. Candidates must have been born between 02.01.2001 and 01.01.2008 (both days inclusive). No age relaxation, either upper or lower, is permissible. The reckoning date for age is 1st January 2026.

Salary & Pay Scale

The posts for sportspersons are in Pay Level -2 (GP 1900) and Pay Level -1 (GP 1800) of RS(RP) Rules'2016. All selected candidates will be appointed at the minimum scale of pay for their respective levels.

How to Apply

Applicants must download and print the application form and other Annexures from the official Rail Wheel Factory website (www.rwf.indianrailways.gov.in).
The application form (Annexure-I) should be printed on good quality, white A-4 paper (210 X 297 mm) and filled strictly in the prescribed format. Applications in any language other than English/Hindi or with deviations from the format will be rejected.
Affix one recent passport-size photograph (4 cm x 5 cm), preferably not older than 3 months. The photo must clearly show the full face, be without goggles/colored glasses, sharp, clear with a light background, and suitable for scanning/printing. No marks or signatures on the front side of the photo. It should be neatly pasted, not stapled or pinned. Attested photographs will lead to rejection.
Candidates must sign at all prescribed places in the application form.
Clearly indicate the specific sports discipline, event, and position applied for (e.g., Hockey (Men), Goal Keeper, Mid Fielder or Forward) as per para 1 of the notification.
Provide two marks of physical identification (e.g., mole on nose, cut mark on forehead) without fail.
A clear, unsmudged Left Thumb Impression (LTI) is mandatory; unclear/smudged impressions will lead to rejection.
Applications, along with requisite self-attested enclosures, must reach the specified office on or before the closing date. Late applications will be summarily rejected.
Only self-attested copies of sports achievements and educational qualifications enclosed with the application will be considered for eligibility/merit.
Original documents pertaining to educational qualification, caste, sports achievements, date of birth, minority income certificate, etc., must be produced at the time of selection trials.
Candidates must ensure their name, father's name, religion, gender, community, serving employee status, and other details are correctly filled in capital letters as given in their Matriculation/High School Examination certificate.
Government/PSU employees must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of trials.
Candidates debarred from RRB, RRC, etc., exams should not apply.
Candidates applying for more than one game/event must submit separate applications with separate examination fees.
No TA/DA will be provided for attending trials.
The application should be submitted in the prescribed format, complete in all respects, duly signed, and enclosing all required annexures. The sealed envelope containing the application must be superscribed with: "Application against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) dated 30.10.2025 recruitment for the year 2025-26".
Applications should be sent by post to 'The Assistant Personnel Officer-IV', Personnel Department, Rail Wheel Factory (Ministry of Railways), Administrative Building, Yelahanka, Bangalore 560064. Alternatively, candidates can drop their applications directly in the Drop box at the Personnel Department office premises, 2nd Floor, at the address mentioned above.

Application Fee

For General Candidates: Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred only). A provision for refunding Rs. 400/- exists for those who actually appear in the trials.
For SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250/- (Two Hundred and Fifty only). A provision for refunding the same amount to those who actually appear in the trials.
The examination fee is non-refundable if candidates do not fulfill eligibility criteria but still apply.
Minorities include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jain, and Zorastrians (Parsis).
Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) are defined as candidates with an annual family income less than Rs. 50,000/-.
Fee remittance is accepted only via Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD).
