Based in the Department of Biochemistry at University of Delhi South Campus (UDSC), one of India's preeminent hubs for biomedical and biochemical research. Under the mentorship of Prof. Alo Nag (an authority on viral oncogenesis and human papillomavirus mechanisms), the fellow will investigate the molecular pathways driving HPV-associated cervical and oropharyngeal cancers (ANRF/ARG/2025/004015/LS). Daily responsibilities include mammalian cell line culture, RNA/protein extraction, CRISPR/shRNA knockdowns, confocal microscopy, and inhibitor assays. Intense, high-output academic lab culture with opportunities to register for Ph.D. at Delhi University.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Purely temporary appointment sanctioned until 2029 (up to 3 years), subject to annual satisfactory performance evaluations. Terminus co-terminus with the ANRF research scheme. Stationed at UDSC, Benito Juarez Road, New Delhi.

Career & Promotion Ladder

Promotion timeline, seniority ladder, pay grade scaling.

Strong foundation for international postdoctoral fellowships and academic tenure-track positions.
Crucial Application Warnings & Eligibility Traps

Avoid common application rejection triggers, photo/signature guidelines, and certificate validity windows.

  • Deadline of 21.09.2026: Complete applications with CV, marksheets, experience certificates, and publication reprints must reach Prof. Alo Nag on or before 21 September 2026.
  • First Class Requirement Across All Degrees: Candidates must possess first class (60% and above) marks throughout their academic career (10th, 12th, B.Sc., and M.Sc./M.Tech.).
  • National Exam Preference: CSIR-UGC NET or GATE qualification is strongly preferred and determines fellowship entitlement under ANRF norms.
  • Production of Original Documents: Selected candidates must produce all original degrees, marksheets, and experience certificates at the time of joining; failure to do so invalidates the offer.
  • Purely Temporary Position: The post terminates automatically with the closure of the research scheme in 2029 with no right to permanent absorption at DU.
