Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University or Institution. Candidates who have passed Sections A & B of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Graduate Membership Examination of IETE are also eligible. For Indian Radio Regulatory Service Gr 'A' and Indian Naval Armament Service, candidates with an M.Sc. Degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics, or Radio Engineering are also eligible.

Age Limit & Relaxations

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st January, 2027 (born between 2nd January 1997 and 1st January 2006). The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), up to 10 years for PwBD, and up to 35 years for eligible regular departmental government servants.

Selection is conducted through a competitive 3-stage process: (1) Stage-I Preliminary Examination consisting of two objective papers (Paper-I General Studies & Engineering Aptitude for 200 marks, Paper-II Engineering Discipline for 300 marks; Total 500 marks); (2) Stage-II Main Examination consisting of two conventional engineering discipline papers (300 marks each; Total 600 marks); and (3) Stage-III Personality Test / Interview carrying 200 marks. Final merit ranking is based on the aggregate marks scored out of 1300 marks.
