Educational Qualification

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Agro-Meteorology or Agronomy (preferable), OR Master's degree in Agro-Meteorology/Agronomy with 4/5-year Bachelor's degree (1st division/OGPA), at least 3 years teaching/research experience, and at least one research paper in an SCI or NAAS-rated (>4.0) journal. Basic science postgraduates require NET qualification. All qualifying degrees must be from ICAR-accredited institutions.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 40 years for male candidates and 45 years for female candidates as on 22.10.2026. SC/ST candidates receive age relaxations as per Government norms.

The Research Associate works at the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Lam Farm, Guntur (ANGRAU) under the Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa (GKMS) scheme in collaboration with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Agromet Field Unit (AMFU), Lam. Daily duties are intensive and time-critical: monitoring agro-meteorological observatories, collecting real-time weather parameters (temperature, rainfall, humidity, wind velocity), measuring soil temperature and soil moisture across six distinct depth layers in cropped and non-cropped plots, and uploading verified meteorological data onto the IMD portal twice daily without failure. In addition, the RA formulates medium-range district-level value-added Agro-Advisories for farmers across West Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Krishna, Guntur, Palnadu, and Prakasam districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
