Educational Qualification

Eligibility requirements for Data Scientist position under MeitY sponsored project at DTU:

  • Essential Qualification: Ph.D. (awarded or thesis submitted) in Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology / Software Engineering / Cyber Security / Artificial Intelligence / Electronics & Communications / Mathematics & Computing or a closely related discipline.
    OR
    M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology / Software Engineering / Cyber Security / Artificial Intelligence / Electronics & Communications / Mathematics & Computing or a closely related discipline with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • Desirable Qualifications: For Ph.D. candidates: 1 research paper publication in SCI/SCIE-indexed journals. For M.E./M.Tech candidates: 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience and 2 research paper publications in SCI/SCIE-indexed journals.
  • Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Text Summarisation, Large Language Models (LLMs), Reinforcement Learning, Python Programming, and Cyber/Information Security.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 40 years. Age relaxation, if any, shall be applicable as per Government of India / DTU / funding agency norms.

The Data Scientist will be stationed at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Bawana Road, Delhi. The work involves developing and maintaining automated data analytics pipelines, AI-based benchmarking frameworks, and monitoring dashboards for cybersecurity audit reports under a prestigious MeitY-funded project. The role requires working at least 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM window), and maintaining strict confidentiality under a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Contractual and project-based engagement for an initial duration of 12 months, or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier. Extension is subject to satisfactory performance review (including a mandatory 3-month initial assessment) and availability of project funds from MeitY. The appointment does not confer any claim for regular/permanent absorption at DTU or MeitY.
