Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • Super Specialist (Oncology): MBBS and MCh/DM/DNB in Medical Oncology. If super specialty candidates are unavailable, specialists with MD/DNB in Radiotherapy (3 years experience) or Diploma in Radiotherapy (5 years experience) may be considered in specialist scale.
  • Specialist (Radiology, Dermatology): MBBS with PG Degree in concerned specialty and 3 years experience, or PG Diploma with 5 years experience after PG. (Senior level requires 5 years post-PG degree or 7 years post-PG diploma).
  • Senior Resident: PG Degree or PG Diploma in concerned specialty. If PG candidates are unavailable, candidates with MBBS and 2 years post-internship experience (minimum 1 year in specialty) will be considered.
  • Medical Registration: Valid registration with Travancore-Cochin Medical Council (TCMC), Medical Council of India (MCI), or National Medical Commission (NMC) is mandatory.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years as on the date of interview (25.09.2026).
Full Time / Part Time Specialist & Super Specialist: Not exceeding 69 years as on the date of interview. Tenure beyond 70 years is not permitted.
Relaxation for reserved categories is admissible as per Government of India rules.

Full-time contractual specialists work from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on weekdays and 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM on Saturdays, with mandatory 24x7 emergency call availability. Private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited for full-time specialists. Part-time specialists work 16 hours per week (4 hours x 4 days) with emergency call retainership.

Full Time and Part Time Specialists / Super Specialists are engaged on a 1-year contract, extendable up to a maximum of 3 years based on annual performance appraisals or until a regular doctor joins. Selected specialists must submit a mandatory Professional Indemnity Insurance policy (₹10 lakh to ₹30 lakh sum assured) within 7 days of joining.
