The Research Assistant will be embedded within the Division of Entomology at ICAR-IARI, Pusa, New Delhi, under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Widushi Scheme project titled 'Integrative taxonomy of bee fauna of India'. The project is headed by Principal Investigator Dr. Debjani Dey and is sanctioned till August 2030. Daily responsibilities include field collection of wild bee species and pollinators across diverse eco-climatic regions of India, laboratory pinning, mounting, morphological measurement, high-resolution micro-photography, genitalia dissection, and digital database indexing. The working environment is research-driven, requiring precision in insect taxonomic keys, molecular barcoding workflows, and database record keeping.

The appointment is purely contractual for an initial period of six months, renewable on a 6-month performance review basis by the Principal Investigator throughout the project duration (till August 2030). Employment is co-terminus with the DST project scheme.
