The Project Nurse-II works within the Department of Medicine and Emergency / Intensive Care Units at JIPMER, Puducherry, an apex Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Working on the prestigious ICMR-funded multicentre clinical trial ('CHANGING trial'), the nurse handles acute patient management protocols for near-hanging patients admitted with altered sensorium. Daily responsibilities require round-the-clock shift duties (including rotational night shifts) to administer blinded investigational study drugs or placebos four times daily, continuous neurological monitoring (Glasgow Coma Scale - GCS), monitoring steroid-related complications (including glycemic spikes and fluid imbalances), collecting serial blood specimens, tracking adverse events, logging real-time data into REDCap clinical research databases, and maintaining drug accountability logs under strict ICH-GCP ethical standards.

Stationed at Department of Medicine, JIPMER, Dhanwantri Nagar, Puducherry – 605006, with potential coordination with participating trial network sites. The appointment is on an externally funded project contract basis for a likely duration of one (01) year and eight (08) months (20 months), co-terminus with ICMR project funding.

Paid a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹20,000/- plus 20% HRA (₹4,000/-), totaling ₹24,000/- per month. While project nursing posts do not confer regular absorption into the permanent JIPMER nursing officer cadre, acquiring 20 months of documented experience coordinating an ICMR-sponsored multicentre clinical trial in emergency critical care provides premier credentials for Clinical Trial Coordinator, Senior Research Nurse, and Clinical Research Associate (CRA) positions across global clinical research organizations (CROs) and apex AIIMS/JIPMER research centers.
