Work Culture & Environment

Office/fieldwork balance, duties, organizational environment.

Casual Conductors in the Transport Wing of the University of Kerala assist in operating campus buses and official transit routes connecting university departments, research centers, and constituent campuses across Thiruvananthapuram. The role involves managing student and faculty transit, ticket/pass verification, coordinating passenger boarding and safety, and maintaining vehicle log registers under daily wage operating conditions.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Stationed at the University of Kerala campus transit wing in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Engagement is strictly temporary on a daily wage basis for 89 days at a time, governed by Kerala university casual employment norms. Employment breaks are strictly enforced between tenures to prevent continuous service claims.

Career & Promotion Ladder

Promotion timeline, seniority ladder, pay grade scaling.

Because the position is purely casual and empanelled on a daily wage basis (₹710/day up to ₹19,170/month), there is no promotional ladder, regularization guarantee, or claim to pensionary benefits under Kerala Service Rules (KSR). However, verified service on university transport rolls provides valuable public-sector driving/conducting experience for future Kerala PSC state transport (KSRTC) or university establishment recruitments.
