Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a recognised Dental qualification included in the First or Third Schedule to the Indian Dentist Act, 1948 as amended from time to time (Bachelor of Dental Surgery - BDS) and must be registered with a State Dental Council. In addition, candidates must be permanent residents of Manipur (or direct lineage descendants with documentary proof) and able to speak Manipuri (Meetei/Meitei Lon) or any recognized tribal dialect of Manipur.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Not less than 21 years and not more than 38 years as on 23rd September, 2026. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, by 3 years for OBC candidates, and by 10 years for Differently Abled Persons (DAPs). Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC who are also DAPs are eligible for cumulative age relaxation under both categories. Government servants receive relaxation to the extent of service rendered under the Government. No age relaxation applies to unreserved categories where there is no reservation.

The total marks for the examination shall be 100, consisting of 85 marks for the Written Examination (85 MCQs, 2 hours duration) and 15 marks for the Viva Voce / Physical Interview assessed by a Board constituted by the Commission with Subject Experts. Candidates will be called for interview in a 3:1 ratio of the advertised vacancies per category. The final merit list is based on the aggregate of written and interview marks. Tie-breaker: higher marks in written exam, followed by older age.
