Educational Qualification

1. Project Research Scientist-III (Medical): MBBS / BVSc / BDS with a Post Graduate Degree (MD / MVSc / MDS / MPH), including integrated PG degrees, plus 3 years of post-qualification experience; OR MBBS / BVSc / BDS with MPH / PhD plus 3 years of post-qualification experience.

2. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical): Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG degrees) with 3 years post-qualification experience or PhD; OR Four-year Engineering / IT / CS Graduate Degree (B.E./B.Tech) with 3 years of post-qualification experience.

Opportunity: Selected candidates may have the opportunity to register for and pursue a PhD under the guidance of the PI/Co-PIs, subject to institutional rules and eligibility.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit: 45 years for Project Research Scientist-III (Medical), and 40 years for Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) as on the application deadline (30.10.2026). Age relaxation applies as per ICMR / Government of India norms.

Cutting-edge multidisciplinary R&D environment under the Department of Occupational Health at AIIHPH Kolkata (a premier public health institute under MoHFW, Govt. of India) in collaboration with ICMR. Project CHAYA integrates clinical/occupational health surveillance, heat stress physiological monitoring, and AI-enabled Digital Twin modeling with wearable IoT devices for worker protection. Appointees will conduct field testing across India, manage real-time data pipelines, and contribute to peer-reviewed publications and patent filings. Selected candidates may also have an opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. under the guidance of the PI/Co-PIs as per institutional norms.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Initial engagement is for 1 year, renewable annually up to a total of 4 years based on satisfactory performance, project requirements, and ICMR funding sanction. Base posting is at AIIHPH Kolkata (110 C.R. Avenue), with domestic travel across field implementation sites in India as needed.

Purely contractual project appointment co-terminus with ICMR funding. It does not confer any right to regular absorption in AIIHPH or ICMR.
