Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University in India. Additionally, candidates must possess knowledge of computer operation with a mandatory minimum English typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) on computer.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidates must not be below 18 years and must not exceed 30 years of age as on 1st September, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/Ex-servicemen as per Government of India rules, and up to 5 years for dependents of freedom fighters. No upper age limit for departmental candidates of the Supreme Court Registry.

The selection process comprises four stages:
1. Objective Type Test: 100 questions (100 marks, 1.5 hours, min. 50 qualifying marks). Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Shortlisting ratio for Stage 2 & 3 is 1:10.
2. Typing Speed Test on Computer: 10 minutes at 35 w.p.m. (50 marks, min. 25 qualifying marks, max. 3% mistakes allowed). Conducted in Delhi/NCR.
3. Descriptive Written Test: English Comprehension, Precis Writing, and Essay (100 marks, 2 hours, min. 50 qualifying marks). Evaluated only for candidates qualifying the typing test.
4. Interview: 25 marks (min. 13 qualifying marks). Shortlisting ratio: 1:3 against vacancies.
