Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an MBBS Degree from an MCI/NMC recognized institution along with a PG Degree / DNB / Diploma in the concerned specialty (Obstetrics & Gynaecology or Pathology). Must have valid Delhi Medical Council (DMC) registration.

Non-PG Eligibility: If adequate PG candidates are unavailable, candidates with MBBS and 2 years of clinical experience (with at least 1 year in the concerned specialty) can be considered for a 6-month tenure. Foreign medical graduates must provide their FMGE / NBE screening exam scorecard.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 45 years as on the interview date (09.10.2026). Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Govt. of India list), and 10 years for PwD candidates.

High-volume clinical maternity and neonatal care environment at Mrs. Girdharlal Maternity Hospital (GLMH), an established MCD hospital at Ajmeri Gate, New Delhi. Senior Residents in Gynaecology manage heavy labor ward duties, normal and operative deliveries (caesarean sections), maternal intensive care, emergency triage, and postpartum wards. Pathology Senior Residents handle surgical pathology grossing, reporting of biopsies, blood banking, hematology smears, and routine hospital biochemistry testing.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Senior Residency is initially for 1 year, extendable annually up to a maximum total period of 3 years under the Central Residency Scheme, based on satisfactory performance. Non-PG doctors are appointed for an initial tenure of 6 months. Inter-hospital or inter-institutional transfers are not permitted under MCD rules.
