Educational Qualification

Essential qualifications for Senior Resident:
• MBBS Degree from an MCI/NMC recognized University or Institution.
• Post Graduate Qualification: MD / MS / DNB / Diploma or equivalent in the concerned specialty (Pediatrics or Anesthesia) from a recognized University/Institution registered with Medical Council.
• Medical Registration: Must possess valid registration with Delhi Medical Council (DMC) or National Medical Commission (NMC). DMC registration must be submitted at the time of interview/joining.
• Internship: Must have completed compulsory rotatory internship.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 45 years as on the date of interview (09.10.2026). Standard relaxation in upper age limit applies for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years for Central List), and PwD candidates as per Govt of India/MCD rules.

Mrs. Girdhari Lal Maternity Hospital (GLMH) is an established, high-volume municipal maternity and newborn healthcare facility run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), situated near Ajmeri Gate in Central Delhi. Senior Residents handle emergency obstetric triage, labor room management, elective and emergency cesarean sections, pediatric/neonatal care, and pediatric wards. Duties involve rigorous shift rotations, night on-call duties, and high patient turnouts from Old Delhi and surrounding localities. The clinical exposure is intense, particularly for Anesthesia (managing obstetric anesthesia and difficult airways) and Pediatrics (handling newborn care, neonatal jaundice, and pediatric emergencies).

The engagement is for a period of one year initially or till regular posts of Specialist are filled, whichever is earlier.
