Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold an MBBS degree along with a PG Degree (MD / MS / DNB) or PG Diploma in the concerned clinical specialty (Anesthesiology, Pathology, Pulmonary Medicine / Chest, Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology / Eye, General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, or General Surgery) from a recognized Medical College/University and must be registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidate must not exceed 45 years of age as on the date of Walk-in Interview (06.10.2026). Age relaxation is admissible for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PWD, and Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India DoPT rules.

Selection is conducted through a single-day Walk-in process:
1. Document Verification: Candidates report between 09:00 AM and 10:30 AM (registration till 11:00 AM) on 06.10.2026 with original certificates, self-attested photocopies, NMC/State Medical Council registration, and application fee Demand Draft.
2. Walk-in Interview: Eligible candidates appear before the Selection Board from 11:00 AM onwards. Evaluation is based on specialized clinical knowledge, emergency case handling, diagnostic competence, and residency aptitude.

Senior Residents serve on the frontline of specialized clinical care across Inpatient (IPD), Outpatient (OPD), Emergency/Casualty, and Intensive Care Units (ICU). Work entails heavy exposure to occupational injuries, industrial trauma, respiratory ailments (pneumoconiosis, COPD), and maternal-child emergencies. Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) is incorporated in the gross monthly compensation; private practice outside ESIC is strictly forbidden and punishable with termination. The atmosphere offers substantial hands-on procedural experience without the academic thesis pressures of university teaching hospitals.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial engagement is for one year, extendable annually up to a maximum period of 3 years under the Government of India Central Residency Scheme, subject to satisfactory clinical performance and vigilance clearance. The engagement is purely contractual with a standard 1-month notice period (or 1 month's gross salary in lieu) for termination on either side. Senior Residency is a time-capped, 3-year maximum training-cum-service position under the Central Residency Scheme. It does not carry direct promotional avenues or permanent absorption into ESIC cadre service. However, completion of 1 to 3 years of Senior Residency satisfies mandatory regulatory requirements prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for appointment as Assistant Professor in medical colleges or for direct recruitment as Specialist Grade-II in Central/State Health Services and ESIC permanent medical cadres.
