Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an MBBS degree with a Post Graduate Degree / DNB / Diploma in the concerned specialty from an NMC/MCI recognized university or institute. Candidates must be registered with the Delhi Medical Council (DMC) or have applied for DMC registration with valid acknowledgment slip. In case PG doctors are not available in certain specialties, candidates possessing an MBBS degree will be considered as Non-PG Senior Residents.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 45 years as on 01.07.2026, relaxable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years for Delhi OBC certificates), and PwD candidates as per Govt of NCT of Delhi guidelines.

Selection is based purely on a Walk-in Personal Interview conducted by the Departmental Selection Board on the 2nd Tuesday and Last Tuesday of every month at 10:30 AM in the Conference Hall, Office of the Medical Director, Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi. A rank list will be prepared based on interview performance and academic merit (with first preference given to fresh PG degree holders), which remains valid until the next interview circular is published.

  • No TA/DA or Leave Concessions: No travel allowance is paid for attending the interview. Additionally, no NOC or permission for fellowship/conferences exceeding three days is permitted during the residency tenure.
