Educational Qualification

Post-wise educational qualifications and experience requirements under UPSC Advt. No. 12/2026:

  • Junior Technical Officer (Sugar Technology): Degree in Science or Engineering with Associateship in Sugar Technology or Post-graduate Diploma in Sugar Technology, plus 3 years of teaching/research/advisory experience or sugar factory managerial experience.
  • Assistant Legislative Counsel (ILS Grade-IV): Degree in Law with at least 7 years of experience in State Judicial Service / Legal Department of a State / Central Government legal affairs or as a practicing Advocate/Attorney, OR Master's Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 5 years of teaching/research experience.
  • Law Officer (Land & Building Dept, GNCTD): Degree in Law (LL.B.) with at least 2 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner or in legal work in a government office.
  • Specialist Grade II (Cardiology, NDMC): MBBS with recognized Post Graduate Degree in Cardiology (D.M. / DNB Cardiology) plus at least 3 years of specialty experience post-PG.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Post-wise maximum age limits (as on the closing date 16-10-2026):

  • Junior Technical Officer (Sugar Tech): 38 years for OBC.
  • Assistant Legislative Counsel: 40 years for UR/EWS, 43 years for OBC, and 45 years for SC.
  • Law Officer: 30 years for UR, 33 years for OBC.
  • Specialist Grade II (Cardiology): 48 years for OBC.

The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and as per standard Central Government rules.
