Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold an MBBS / BDS / B.V.Sc. & AH degree recognized by MCI (NMC), DCI, or VCI respectively (with minimum 1 year experience for BDS / B.V.Sc. candidates). Candidates holding an MD in Microbiology, Pathology, or Community Medicine, or MDS / M.V.Sc. will be given preference and granted 3 years' experience equivalency.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Scientist-B (Medical) leads a specialized team of scientific and technical staff managing clinical viral diagnostic assays (RT-PCR, automated serology, viral load estimation) for viral hepatitis, dengue, chikungunya, respiratory pathogens, and encephalitis. Responsibilities include supervising BSL-2 lab biosafety, maintaining laboratory quality control, analyzing viral genomic sequencing data, and liaising with state public health surveillance teams (IDSP). Standard clinical hospital research hours (09:00 AM to 05:00 PM) with emergency call duty during viral disease outbreaks.
