Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a full-time, First Class Engineering Degree (B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc Engg) in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automobile, Civil, or Railway Engineering from a recognized University/Institution. Post-graduate degrees (M.E. / M.Tech / MBA / Ph.D.) are required or preferred for senior managerial posts. Mandatory post-qualification experience ranges from 2 years for Engineer (Grade-II) up to 21 years for Chief General Manager (Grade-IX).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit as on 07.10.2026: Engineer (Gr-II) – 29 years; Assistant Manager (Gr-III) – 30 years; AGM (Gr-VI) – 42 years; DGM (Gr-VII) – 45 years; GM (Gr-VIII) – 48 years; CGM (Gr-IX) – 51 years. Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 10 years for PwD. Maximum age with relaxation cannot exceed 57 years.
