Educational Qualification

Eligibility criteria for Class-IV posts in District Judiciary Srinagar:
• Process Server (02 Posts): Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) examination from any recognized Board.
• Orderly / Chowkidar (15 Posts): Passed 10th (Matriculation) examination from any recognized Board.
• Domicile Requirement: Must be a bona fide resident of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir possessing a valid Domicile Certificate issued under S.O. 166 dated 18.05.2020.
• Note for Prior Applicants: Candidates who had already applied under Notification No. 04 of 2024 dated 16.05.2024 need not apply afresh.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age as on 01-01-2026: Open Merit (OM): 18 to 40 years (born 01-01-1986 to 01-01-2008). Reserved categories (SC, ST1, ST2, RBA, OBC, EWS, ALC/IB): 18 to 43 years (born 01-01-1983 to 01-01-2008).

Selection is conducted through an offline evaluation pipeline:
1. Application Submission: Completed application form (Annexure A) with self-attested testimonials and J&K Bank Demand Draft of ₹300/- submitted in person to the Administrative Section by 22 September 2026 or by Registered Post by 25 September 2026.
2. Interview / Viva-Voce: The selection for all 17 Class-IV posts shall be made strictly on the basis of merit obtained in Interview / Viva-Voce only. No written test is conducted.
3. Schedule Notification: Interview dates and venues will be published on https://srinagar.dcourts.gov.in and local dailies; no individual call letters will be dispatched.

Process Servers serve court summons, notices, and legal warrants across Srinagar and adjoining tehsils, coordinating with local police stations and administrative officers. Orderlies and Chowkidars manage courtroom decorum, assist judges during hearings, maintain judicial case files, and safeguard court premises. Working hours are regular court hours (10:00 AM to 04:30 PM), with occasional overtime during urgent judicial sessions.
