Educational Qualification

Educational & Experience Qualifications:
• Essential Degree: Master's Degree in Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry or related areas from a recognized University or Institute.
• Desirable / Preferred Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant process development experience in carbohydrate chemistry including multi-step organic synthesis, reaction optimization, chromatographic purification, and structural characterization of carbohydrate molecules.
• National Test Qualification: CSIR-NET / GATE / DBT-JRF or equivalent national level test qualified candidates are entitled to higher fellowship slabs.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 35 years as on the date of walk-in interview (10.09.2026).
• Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification(s) and/or experience of the applicant may be considered for candidates possessing qualifications and experience higher than advertised, subject to prior approval of the competent authority.

The selection process comprises:
1. Reporting & Document Scrutiny: Candidates must report at Discussion Room No. 31, 2nd Floor, IISER Pune Campus by 10:00 AM on 10.09.2026 with their filled application form, original certificates, and self-attested photocopies. Candidates arriving after 10:30 AM will not be entertained.
2. Screening Shortlist: If the number of candidates is large, the Screening Committee may restrict the interview list to a reasonable number based on higher qualifications and carbohydrate chemistry experience.
3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear before the Selection Committee for technical evaluation in organic chemistry, synthesis, and characterization.
