• Sciences Track: Post Graduate Degree (M.Sc.) in Basic Science (Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, Oceanography, Physics, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences) with NET qualification; OR
• Engineering / Professional Track: Graduate Degree in Professional Course (B.E. / B.Tech.) with NET/GATE qualification; OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (M.E. / M.Tech.) in Atmospheric Sciences, Climate Science, Ocean Engineering, or allied disciplines.
• CFTI Exemption: Requirement of NET/GATE examination for selection to JRF may be relaxed for candidates who have graduated from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) with a CGPA of more than 8.000 (80% aggregate marks). 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
• Project Scope: Numerical weather prediction (NWP), atmospheric energetics, thermodynamic modeling of rapid intensification (RI) of tropical cyclones in the Bay of Bengal, and climate change projections under warming scenarios funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).
