Director, DIA-CoE (Full-time Contract Basis) - 01 Post:
• Essential Qualification: Doctoral (Ph.D.) or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 25 years of experience in technology domains / Defence (technical domain), particularly related to Powder Metallurgy, Functional Materials, High Power Microwave Sources and Devices, or Ceramics.
• Desirable: Setting up large research facilities, strategic research planning, technology transfer, handling multi-node R&D projects across academia/industry/DRDO, and strong publications/patents record.

DRDO Industry Academia – Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE) at IIT (BHU) Varanasi is a premier national directed-research hub established through an MoU between DRDO and IIT (BHU). The Director acts as the administrative and executive head, leading applied research in Powder Metallurgy, Functional Materials, High Power Microwave Sources/Devices, and Ceramics. The position involves high-level strategic governance, liaising directly with DRDO Director Generals, ministry officials, academic researchers, and defence industry CEOs to drive technology translation and indigenous defence capabilities.

Stationed at the IIT (BHU) Varanasi campus, Uttar Pradesh. The appointment is on a full-time contract basis initially for 3 years, extendable by an additional 2 years subject to performance review by the competent authority.
