Educational Qualification

Department-wise Educational Qualifications:

  • For Medical Candidates (Senior Residents): Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD / MS / DNB) in the concerned specialty (Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, Physiology, Psychiatry, Radio-Diagnosis) from an NMC/MCI recognized university or institute. Valid medical council registration is mandatory.
  • For Non-Medical Candidates (Senior Demonstrators in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology): M.Sc. / M.Biotech degree in the subject concerned AND Ph.D. in the subject concerned / allied subject from a recognized University or Institute.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The upper age limit is 45 years as on the closing date of application submission (29.10.2026). Maximum permissible age relaxations: OBC candidates: 3 years, SC/ST candidates: 5 years, PwBD (General): 10 years, PwBD (OBC): 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years, Ex-Servicemen & Commissioned Officers: 5 years.

Eligible candidates who submit offline applications will be called for document verification and personal interview at AIIMS Rewari. The interview carries 100 marks. Merit lists across all categories (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) are formulated purely on the basis of interview marks. Tie-breakers are resolved based on date of birth (older candidate placed higher). A waiting list valid up to 31.12.2026 will also be maintained.

AIIMS Rewari is an autonomous Institute of National Importance established under the PMSSY at Majra, Rewari, Haryana. Senior Residents and Senior Demonstrators play a central role in launching and operating new specialty OPDs, IPD wards, critical emergency care, and diagnostic laboratories. Appointees also deliver bedside clinical teaching and practical laboratory demonstrations to undergraduate MBBS medical students. The working environment offers immense clinical exposure, academic prestige, and direct mentoring under distinguished senior faculty, accompanied by regular rotational emergency and night duty rosters.

The appointment is made under the Central Residency Scheme for an initial tenure of 1 year, extendable annually up to a maximum duration of 3 years based on satisfactory annual performance appraisal. The duty station is on-campus at AIIMS Rewari, Majra, Haryana. Allotted candidates must arrange or reside in designated campus accommodation subject to availability; no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

Senior Residency is a time-bound 3-year residency tenure without direct automatic absorption into regular faculty cadre. However, completing a 3-year Senior Residency at an AIIMS satisfies the mandatory teaching requirement under National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines for eligibility as Assistant Professor in medical colleges across India. It also serves as a strong springboard for super-specialty DM/M.Ch. admissions and permanent hospital specialist appointments.

  • Non-Medical Candidates (Senior Demonstrators with M.Sc. + Ph.D.): Pay Level 10 (Rs. 56,100/- to Rs. 1,77,500/-) plus usual allowances under 7th CPC.

Medical candidates receive Pay Level 11 (Rs. 67,700/- basic + NPA + admissible allowances under 7th CPC). Non-Medical candidates receive Pay Level 10 (Rs. 56,100/- basic + usual allowances under 7th CPC). Tenure is up to 3 years under the Central Residency Scheme.
