IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2026 – Apply for Junior Research Fellow Post (GlobalFoundries VLSI Project)

Essential Qualifications & Project Competencies:
• Educational Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Applied Physics Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 7.0 on a 10-point scale (or 70% aggregate marks).
• Mandatory National Eligibility Test: Must hold a valid GATE scorecard.
• Key Technical Competencies: Semiconductor device physics, VLSI design, low-voltage Logic & SRAM IP design, EDA simulation tools (Cadence, Synopsys, SPICE), standard-cell characterization, static timing analysis (STA), Python / MATLAB scripting, and familiarity with emerging memories (RRAM, neuromorphic computing, SNNs).
• Project Focus: Design, optimization, and characterization of ultra-low-power 0.45-V retention Logic and SRAM IPs for next-generation always-on SoCs in direct collaboration with GlobalFoundries (GF), offering opportunities for Ph.D./M.S. by Research and industry internships.

Upper age limit is typically 28 years on the closing date (07 September 2026). Standard relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST/PwD/Women and 3 years for OBC candidates as per Government of India guidelines.
