Work Culture & Environment

Office/fieldwork balance, duties, organizational environment.

Stenographer Grade-III personnel in the District and Sessions Court, Jind work directly in courtrooms attached to the District & Sessions Judge, Additional District & Sessions Judges, or Civil Judges / Judicial Magistrates. Core responsibilities include taking dictation of judicial orders, depositions, framing of charges, and final judgments during live court hearings, followed by rapid and error-free transcription on desktop computers. Court working hours typically span 09:30 AM to 05:00 PM, though hearing days with reserved pronouncements can extend into late evening sessions.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

The engagement is purely on an ad-hoc / contractual basis initially for a period of six (06) months or until regular appointments are finalized by the Hon'ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana, whichever is earlier. Posting is stationed within the Sessions Division, Jind (including sub-divisional judicial courts like Narwana or Safidon). Adhoc service does not automatically confer regularization rights, though working stenographers gain extensive judicial workflow experience.

Career & Promotion Ladder

Promotion timeline, seniority ladder, pay grade scaling.

For regular appointees under the Haryana Subordinate Court Establishment Rules, a Stenographer Grade-III progresses to Stenographer Grade-II (FPL-6), Stenographer Grade-I (FPL-7), and Senior Scale Stenographer / Judgment Writer / Personal Assistant (FPL-8/9) based on seniority and clearing speed tests (100–120 WPM). For ad-hoc staff, clearing regular SSSC / High Court recruitment drives is the route to permanent absorption.

  • No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the shorthand or computer proficiency test.
  • The date and schedule of the test will only be uploaded on https://jind.dcourts.gov.in; no individual letters will be posted.
