UPSC Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 212 Assistant Public Prosecutor & Specialist Posts (Advt 11/2026)

Qualifications vary across vacancies: For Assistant Public Prosecutor (140 posts), candidates must possess a Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized University with at least 3 years of active experience at the bar (experience as government advocate is desirable). For Public Law Officer / Law Officer (4 posts, UT of Ladakh), a Bachelor's Degree in Law with 2 years of certified practice at the bar is required. For Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Anatomy & General Medicine, 64 posts) and Specialist Grade II (Anaesthesiology & Pediatrics, 2 posts), candidates require an MBBS degree plus a Post-Graduate Degree (MD / MS / DNB) or Diploma in the respective specialty with 3 years of teaching/specialist experience. For Assistant Editor (2 posts), a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication (or degree with Economics/Statistics/English plus 1-year Journalism Diploma) with 3 years of editing/publishing experience is required.

Normal maximum age limits: 30 years for Assistant Editor; 35 years for Assistant Public Prosecutor; 40 years for Assistant Professor (Anatomy, General Medicine) and Public Law Officer; 45 years for Specialist Grade II (Pediatrics); and 50 years for Specialist Grade II (Anaesthesiology). Upper age relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, up to 10 years for PwBD, and up to 5 years for contractual employees of the respective departments.

1. Visit the official UPSC online recruitment portal at upsconline.nic.in.
2. Navigate to 'Online Recruitment Application (ORA) for Various Recruitment Posts'.
3. Complete your Universal Registration Number (URN) Profile and fill in the Common Application Form (CAF).
4. Capture a real-time live photograph through the webcam as required by the application module (ensure plain background, good lighting, no caps/spectacles).
5. Upload your signature signed three times (one below the other) in black ink on white paper in JPEG format.
6. Upload scanned self-attested documents supporting educational qualifications, degree certificates, experience certificates at the bar/institutions, proof of Date of Birth, and caste/PwBD certificates.
7. Pay the nominal application fee of ₹25/- (unless fee exempted) via UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Card.
8. Submit the application on or before 02 October 2026 (18:00 hrs) for Posts 1 to 6, and 09 October 2026 (18:00 hrs) for Post 7 (UT of Ladakh). Print the submitted application form for interview verification.
