Trade Apprentices undergo practical technical training in high-security, sophisticated nuclear facility environments. The training period is strictly limited to 1 (one) year only, executed at the BHAVINI Kalpakkam plant site in Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu. As per Section 22 of the Apprentices Act, 1961, there is strictly no obligation on BHAVINI to absorb, regularize, or offer permanent employment to apprentices upon training completion.

However, successfully completing the 1-year apprenticeship at BHAVINI and clearing the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) trade test awards the prestigious National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC), which is an essential qualification for permanent Technician-B and Scientific Assistant recruitments across DAE entities (BHAVINI, NPCIL, BARC, IGCAR).
