Essential Educational Qualifications (Any One):

  • 3-year or 4-year full-time Degree in Sericulture; OR
  • 3-year full-time Degree + PG Diploma in Sericulture; OR
  • 4-year full-time Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Sciences / Forestry; OR
  • 3-year full-time Degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology / Botany / Biology) or Biotechnology + PG Diploma in Sericulture; OR
  • 3-year full-time Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology / Botany / Biology) or Biotechnology + 1 year experience in Sericultural Project Work.

Desirable Qualification: Work experience in the field of silkworm rearing and grainage (Pre-Cocoon Sector).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Central Silk Board's Basic Tasar Silkworm Seed Organization (BTSSO), Bilaspur, is the apex national nodal body for Tropical Tasar silkworm seed production. Sericulture Assistants assist Senior Technical Assistants across CTSSS and BSM&TC stations located in rural and forest fringes of central and eastern India. Daily duties include pre-cocoon technology support, silkworm rearing supervision, grainage operations, microscopic examination for pebrine disease detection, seed cocoon preservation, and coordination with local tribal rearers and farmers.

Purely contractual engagement initially for a period not exceeding one (01) year. Station postings are across 15 field units spanning Chhattisgarh (6 posts), Odisha (4 posts), and 1 post each in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and West Bengal. Candidates can opt for 3 preferences, but final deployment is decided by CSB administration based on merit and vacancies.
