Educational Qualification

• Project Assistant-I: 10th Class pass with ITI certificate in Electronics or Agriculture.
• Project Assistant-II: B.Sc. or 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology (Electrical / Electronics).
• Project Associate-I: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Sc. in relevant engineering/science disciplines (Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Physics, Agriculture). NET/GATE preferred.
• Project Associate-II: Master's in relevant science or B.E./B.Tech with 2 years of R&D experience, or M.E./M.Tech.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc. in Electronics/CSE/IT with valid CSIR-UGC NET or GATE score.
• Declared Results Mandatory: Final semester / result awaited candidates are ineligible.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 35 years for Project Associate-I/II and Project Assistant-I/II, and 30 years for JRF as on October 14, 2026. Age relaxation of 5 years is admissible for SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Third Gender candidates, and 3 years for OBC-NCL.

CSIR-CEERI is a premier national research laboratory under CSIR dedicated to advanced electronic systems, cyber-physical systems, smart agrotech instrumentation, millimeter-wave systems, and medical electronics. Positions are tenable across the main Pilani campus and the Jaipur extension centre. Project staff work on sponsored multidisciplinary projects involving prototype development, embedded software coding (Python/SQL), IoT sensor integration, field testing, and research documentation. Work environment provides access to clean rooms, high-performance computing, and semiconductor fabrication facilities.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Engagement is purely temporary, contractual, and co-terminus with the project duration. Initial appointment is for 6 months, extendable in steps of six months subject to satisfactory performance and fund availability. Under no circumstances can the total tenure of project staff across CSIR laboratories exceed the cumulative statutory limit of 6 years (as per CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated September 02, 2024). Engagement does not confer any right to permanent absorption in CSIR-CEERI.

There is no direct promotion ladder for contractual project staff; however, candidates aligned with project domains can enroll for Ph.D. degrees under AcSIR (Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research). The research experience, intellectual property, and high-impact publications generated provide significant advantages for permanent Scientist and Technical Officer selections in CSIR, DRDO, ISRO, and private R&D labs.
