Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) and possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC / ITI) in Fitter, Electrician, or Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA) trade from a recognized NCVT/SCVT institution.

Domicile Requirement: Applicants must be Indian citizens domiciled in Maharashtra.

Eligibility Restriction: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any organization are not eligible.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidates must have attained a minimum age of 18 years as on the closing date of application (19.10.2026). Government of India reservation rules apply.

Selection is conducted purely on the basis of Academic Merit determined by the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed ITI trade qualification. In case of a tie in percentage of marks, relative merit will be decided based on seniority in age. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for document verification, followed by medical examination and execution of the apprenticeship contract agreement on the apprenticeshipindia.gov.in portal. No written test or interview will be conducted.

Industrial shipyard and maritime engineering environment at CSL Mumbai Ship Repair Unit (CMSRU) located in the Mumbai Port area. Trade Apprentices undergo structured on-the-job vocational training under experienced naval architects, marine engineers, and senior chargehands. Fitter apprentices work on marine mechanical equipment overhaul, pump fitting, pipe alignment, valve servicing, engine room machinery overhauling, and drydock repair operations. Electrician apprentices receive practical training on shipboard electrical distribution systems, HT/LT panels, marine generators, switchboards, cabling, motors, and emergency power circuits. COPA apprentices assist in electronic work permit systems, maintenance logging on SAP ERP, technical documentation, inventory tracking, and shipyard administrative computing. Standard shift timings (typically 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM) adhering to industrial safety, PPE compliance, and maritime safety standards.
