Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Librarian (Group-C): Graduation with Post Graduate Diploma in Library Science, OR Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Library Science from a recognized University, with minimum 03 years of experience as Library Attendant or on a higher post in a related field in any reputed organization or public institution.

Peon (Group-D): Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognized School Education Board. No prior experience required.

Mali (Group-D): Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognized Board along with 03 years of practical experience in gardening and horticulture.

Cook-cum-Attendant (Group-D): Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognized Board along with 03 years of cooking experience in a Government undertaking or reputed hotel. Preference given to candidates acquainted with local Himachali customs and dialects.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidate must be between 18 and 45 years of age as on 01.01.2026 for Unreserved (UR) and EWS categories. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years (up to 50 years) for bonafide SC, ST, OBC, PH candidates of Himachal Pradesh and HP Government employees.

For Librarian (Group-C): Selection is made strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the competitive written examination conducted as per Schedule-IV (Part-G) of the R&P Rules, 2015.

For Group-D Posts (Peon, Mali, Cook-cum-Attendant): No written examination is conducted. Candidates are shortlisted in the ratio 1:3 for Document Verification based on Matriculation marks calculated out of 85 marks (percentage converted to marks out of 85). An additional 15 marks are awarded for evaluation of socio-economic parameters and experience under Schedule-IV (Part-T) of the R&P Rules, 2015. Final merit list is formulated out of 100 marks (85 marks educational merit + 15 marks evaluation).
