Educational Qualification

• Ex-Servicemen JCO (Subedar or higher rank) OR equivalent rank in Para-military forces with minimum 10 years' security experience.
• OR Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCO) and Assistant Commandants in CRPF / BSF / ITBP (pre-revised scale Rs. 8000-13500) with minimum 05 years' security experience.
• OR Inspectors from Para-Military Forces with minimum 10 years' security experience.
• Standard of competitive examination is graduate level.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 35 years as on 27.10.2026. Age relaxation is applicable strictly to Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules (length of military service + 3 years). No SC/ST/OBC age relaxation is admissible since this is an Unreserved (UR) post.

CSIR-NEIST Jorhat is an autonomous national research laboratory under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The Security Officer is responsible for round-the-clock physical security, intelligence, and access control across the main scientific research campus, experimental pilot plants, residential staff quarters, and guest houses. The role involves managing outsourced security guard contracts, fire prevention and safety drills, liaison with local Assam police/civil administration, and protocol during VIP visits.
