Educational Qualification

Eligibility categories for empanelment as Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs):
Target Groups: Teachers (including retired teachers), Retired Government servants and senior citizens, M.S.W. students and teachers, Anganwadi Workers, Doctors/Physicians, Students & Law Students (until they enroll as advocates), Members of non-political, service-oriented NGOs and Clubs, Members of Women Neighborhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Marginalized and vulnerable community members, and educated prisoners of good behavior serving long-term sentences.
Minimum Educational Qualification: Minimum 10th (Matriculation) pass or higher qualification from a recognized Board.
Residency: Must be a resident of urban or rural areas of District Sangrur (or its sub-divisions Dhuri, Moonak, Sunam) with a spirit of voluntary social service.
Disqualifications: Candidate must not have any pending civil or criminal litigation, past convictions, or active political party affiliations.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age. There is no upper age limit for retired government employees, senior citizens, and experienced social workers.

Selection is conducted through background scrutiny and personal interview:

The work of Para Legal Volunteers does not carry any regular salary, remuneration, or wages. PLVs receive a daily honorarium per day of active duty/session as prescribed by the Punjab State Legal Services Authority (PULSA), SAS Nagar (Mohali) and NALSA from time to time (typically ₹500/- per duty day).
