Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) act as the frontline access-to-justice bridge between the legal aid machinery and grassroots rural communities under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). At the Village Legal Care and Support Centre in Gram Panchayat Mahadev (Tehsil Sundernagar, District Mandi), the empanelled PLV will operate as a trusted community helper. Responsibilities include informing marginalized villagers about government welfare schemes, assisting victims of domestic violence or child abuse in reaching police or protection officers, facilitating free legal representation through DLSA front offices, and encouraging amicable dispute settlement through Lok Adalats and pre-litigation mediation. The role is community-facing, service-driven, and brings substantial social respect.

Career & Promotion Ladder
