Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess either:
(i) Master's Degree in Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Business Studies, or Public Administration from a recognized University/Institute AND 1 year experience in store handling and keeping accounts in a Central/State Govt, PSU, Autonomous Body, University, Bank, or Stock Exchange-listed private firm; OR
(ii) Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Business Studies, or Public Administration OR Diploma in Material Management, Warehousing Management, Purchasing, Logistics, or Public Procurement AND 2 years experience in store handling and keeping accounts in a Central/State Govt, PSU, Autonomous Body, University, Bank, or Stock Exchange-listed private organization.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidate must be between 18 and 30 years of age as on the closing date (03 Nov 2026). Upper age relaxation of 5 years is admissible for ST candidates (up to 35 years) against reserved vacancies. Central Government civilian employees are eligible for up to 5 years age relaxation as per government rules.

Selection is conducted through a multi-stage process:

Foreman of Stores is a Group 'B' non-gazetted civilian appointment functioning as the operational custodian of ICG storehouses across strategic coastal bases (Karwar, Pipavav, Bhubaneswar, and Minicoy Island). Duties involve managing marine spares inventory, handling logistics supply chains for coast guard ships and aircraft, supervising storekeeper staff, leading scrap disposal boards, and assisting superior officers in internal and CAG audits. Roles stationed in island bases such as Minicoy involve remote maritime logistics operations with specialized island compensatory allowances.
